about

this time i've started not with a guitar, but with voice.

there's a drone note sung in the background, it's been cut and looped and laid onto three different tracks. it's got tricky to keep it steady at the end of my breath, so the tone got seriously throaty, resembling somehow the traditional throat singing, and the drone of a didgeridoo.

on top of it there's a c-note played on the (deluxe) nashville (power) telecaster, my queen of whole mexico with piezo bridge and three mag pickups.

another two different drones are built upon my idea of harmony around the c-drone. each is playing from an own ditto x2 looper, original c-note drone included.

loopers' output has been doubled as i almost always do, one dropped of an octave, one kept as is. since starting and ending tails have not been trimmed with accuraacy, the lenght of each loop isn't a fraction or a multiple of any other, exaclty. which means, the piece does not develop over a repeating pattern.

and when i was fixing things and levels and pans, i realized crickets were singing in the grass patch outside my window, so i took my field recorder and m-s'ed the outer space beyond my window. which is when that stupid dalmatians some houses down the road to the left started barking. it was too... true to be deleted, so it plays for a few sec where it is.

voice is an instrument i'm thinking more and more to add to my tracks. i still haven't got the tools i need to accomplish the addition, because both hands are occupied already, and because i'm using loudspeakers, not headphones, which wouldn't exactly work with an open mic.

but i'm getting there, it's becoming a reoccuring thought. and i'll get there, with the tool i need to make it happen.

thank you for stopping by, thank you for reading 'til here, thank you for listening.
