about

hardly had t.w.z. released tracks without stringed instruments playing inside and along. this is such one, at least.

weather here's been past unbearable this last week.
t.w.z. has tried to cool off with speechdom, in which conversations are collected and edited together, all by ham radio operators located in places whose temperature is well below 20°C.

sure, it takes more than some guesswork and hope, in order to get the meter back to safe values... but the lullying whirr of airwaves, the static that goes with it, how all these (cool) voices intertwine with themselves, this can at least help to slow down the heart rate and enter a (most welcome) suspended state.

on a side note: i haven't quit stringed instruments, far from it (though i can hardly call anything i do with them dexter). but i spent whatever leisure time i had at hand in recent past weeks to expand and improve my familiarity with tools for electronic music of all sorts, new and old ones, analogue and digital alike, desktop and laptop, sweet and bitter, soft and loud, with the aid kindly provided by my trusted and wise mentor Herman Zorro Hertz.

as such, speechdom is an exercise of sorts (ain't them all?) in collecting and weaving radio clips with short synth-generated clips, fighting relentlessly the tendency to add yet another part or phrase or layer or thread while milling at it.

whatever you make of it, if anything at all: thank you for stopping by, thank you for reading until here, thank you for listening to speechdom.

anything that the knowledgeable guitarist proudly hones in his or her own toolbox, is what theodor has forgotten long ago (and doesn't know where at, for what it matters).
